Becoming a CCMF Alberta donor offers more than just a financial contribution.

We also see it as a vote of confidence with where the organization is headed and the values-based path we’re taking to get there. You have become part of a growing community of people who believe that men deserve the best possible chance to be heard, understood, and live to their potential as healthy individuals, better fathers, and more engaged partners.

Thanks to you, CCMF Alberta had many successes in 2021!

We’d like to share a few highlights of how we addressed significant gaps in services for the men we serve:

  • GAP: Affordable professional one-on-one counselling that’s geared specifically for men.
  • SOLUTION: Launched our pay-what-you-can counselling and Masters student delivered counselling. Find out more and book a free consultation here.

  • GAP: Support services for men who have been the targets of family violence.
  • SOLUTION: We doubled and rebranded our Domestic Abuse Recovery Program, now known as NEXUS, to meet growing demand.
  • SOLUTION: Expanded legal and peer support for men who have been falsely accused of offenses or are being isolated from their children.
  • SOLUTION: Got the green light for Calgary to be the home of CCMF’s FIRST Family Shelter in Western Canada. This unique facility is dedicated to men and families who have experienced any form of domestic abuse and will provide wrap-around services to help them not just at the crisis point but as they rebuild and recover.

So, what’s in store for CCMF Alberta in 2022?

Our commitment to continuous improvement will include review of our program delivery to ensure we’re hitting the mark in addressing our client’s needs. We are also excited about our growing relationships with strategic partners. We have seen increased interest in the Nexus Recovery program, particularly from domestic abuse divisions of local policing agencies and programs that offer court mandated programs for men. As CCMF Albera builds our profile, more and more agencies are recognizing the huge gap in support for men who have been targets of abusive partners and the value of our suite of support services for this population.

With our ongoing growth of inquiries, we must continue to grow our amazing team of volunteers. Email volunteer@ccmfalberta.ca if you’d like to become a CCMF Alberta volunteer. We can’t do it without you!
